Ingredients:

Fish

-

1/2 kg, cut into small pieces

Rice

-

2 cups

Large onions chopped

-

2

Grated coconut

-

2 tbsp

Ground coriander powder

-

1 tbsp

Turmeric powder

-

1 1/2 tsp

Ginger

-

1 inch Piece

Ground cumin seeds

-

2 tsp

Fenugreek seeds

-

1 tsp

Juice  

-

From 1 lemon

Oil

-

1/2 cup

Salt

-

To taste

 

Method:

1.  Partially cook the rice and keep it aside.

2.  Wash and cut the fish into pieces.

3.  Fry coriander, cumin, turmeric, fenugreek and ginger together with oil.

4.  Place the fish in the pan, stir without breaking the pieces.

5.  Cover the pan and cook the fish in low flame. Remove fish from the pan.

6.  Fry the onions till becoming golden brown in the same pan.

7.  Add the partially cooked rice.

8.  Add coconut and lemon juice in the rice and fry gently.

9.  Replace the rice on to a serving plate and garnish the cooked fish pieces on top with chopped coriander leaves.
