Ingredients

Raw rice  2 cup
Green gram dhal 1 cup 
Milk 1 cup 
Water 4 ½ cups 
Jaggery (powdered) 3 cups 
Ghee 4 tbsp 
Cashewnuts and raisins  a few

Method

1. Roast the dry green gram (
À¡º¢ôÀÕôÒ) for a couple of minutes.

2. In a microwave safe bowl cook the rice and green gram mixed with 4 ½ cups of water and 1 cup milk. The microwave is set for 9 minutes on medium.

3. Dissolve 3 cups of jaggery in little water and cook on a low heat till the jaggery melts. Strain the jaggery to remove the dirt.

4. Pour the jaggery syrup to the cooked rice and dhal along with 3 tablespoons of ghee. Add the fried cashewnuts and raisins to it.

Mix well, cook for another 45 seconds and serve hot.
¸Á.. ¸Á..Pongal  ready.
