Difficult shot |
‘Sahana’ song in the movie Sivaji. The whole set
was made of glass. And shooting round glass is
tricky and difficult for any cinematographer. He
covered himself with black bed sheets and took
great care that his reflections didn't fall on
the glass. He was happy about the final result
as it was worth of the effort taken by him. |

His views |
Rajinikanth :
“I must say that it was because of my ignorance that perhaps I did not work in Baba and Chandramukhi. There are very many things in Rajni that have attracted me a lot. I have worked with many great artists, both in Kodambakkam and Bollywood, but I have never seen such a humble and simple person. If there is any fault on his part, he will immediately try to rectify it and he maintains his punctuality. I have never seen such a disciplined person in my career.”
Director Shankar :
“Shankar is a jovial person. At the same time
a very talented director who concentrates hard
on his work. He doesn’t get easily distracted
on the sets and is much focused. He is known to
be a perfectionist, and meticulous.”
Director Jeeva :
“He was a very humble person and a great disciplinarian. If the shooting schedule is fixed at fifty days, he would finish it within forty-seven days. He was a boon to all the producers. He would work so swiftly just like death that came down on him so soon.”
P.C.Sriram :
“He is a very good human benig, he recommended his assistants to all the good directors. With Film Institute you just get a degree but with PC you are assured of good films and directors.”
Shreya :
“I found Shreya to be very dedicated, very professional. She's a very good dancer, and here she has performed well too. She's so involved with her role that before a shot she would ask a lot of questions.
She is a voracious reader.”
Mansoor Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi :
“Both of them come to sets with the script in hand. Do not waste time on sets. They do their home work before the shooting starts.”
Director Manirathanam :
"Mani Ratnam is a workaholic. He will not rest till he gets what he wants."

About him |
P.C.Sriram
:
“I thought you would fumble somewhere and be
branded a document-filmmaker, but you've packaged
it so sensibly and attractively.”
Shankar :
“It's more than what I expected”.
Rajinikanth :
“Camera movements were so professional that he didn't feel it's presence even once.”
Saravanan and Guhan (Producers) :
“We can see your effort in each frame, and it's worth every pie we have spent”
