Already affected by the Pirated VCDs and Satellite
television, Tamil film industry is facing another serious problem
- 'Scarcity of Stories'. Revolving around a same concept for years
or to be precise 'decades' , might bar the Tamil film goers from
entering the theatre.
Rajan P Dev and Raguvaran counterparts under
dhadha Thilagan spit fire on each other when they split. Needless
to say, this is the so called story line of the movie. However,
our appreciation goes to the trio as they fit themselves perfectly
into their roles .Especially Raghuvaran looks so comfortable in
it.
Sham is 'Bala'- who works for Rajan P Dev and
loses his heart to Raghuvaran's daughter. Though he looks trim
and tries to be tough and tight even in romantic scenes, we are
unable to set aside his 'lover boy' image. As per the formula,
Sham has a flashback reasoning why he turned out as a dhadha and
as usual it fails to convince us.
Meera plays Raguvaran's daughter. Trapped between
her lover and family, she has a similar role she played in 'Run'.
Unfortunately the 'charm' she spilled through out Run is missing
in this movie.
In the absence of good plot and screenplay, the
film has nothing special to offer - not even some punch dialogues
or attractive ideas. The simple and expected climax doesn't rescue
the film from monotony.
Yuvan has given some good songs. Especially "PooPoovai"
and "Kannai Pidungikol" make us hum.
Let's hope that Tamil producers learn their lessons
from such movies.
