Diwali, the festival of light is not complete with crackers, new dress and sweets. On the day of Diwali , Films of Mega stars usually line up for the race and releasing a film on that day shows the confidence the maker has over his film and it’s a pleasure for the fans to view it on the day of release itself. With only a few days ahead for Diwali, Tamil Film industry people are holding their breath and having their fingers crossed. There are no films of 50+ heroes releasing this Diwali and all of them have left way for the youngsters to show off their talents. Let’s have a sneak at our Diwali Releases.
Pithamagan:
The most expected flick of Diwali releases. Director Bala
is solely responsible for the comeback of Vikram and Surya and they both show their gratefulness here. Both Vikram and Surya after acting in roles of Police officers in their previous films have taken a different role here, Vikram an undertaker and Surya, a thief with a good sense of humour. Poor Vikram has no pair to sing a duet, while Surya romances with
Laila. Moreover, Simran makes a Cameo appearance. Ilaiyaraja’s soul stirring songs are sure to add to the mood of the movie. As all the top, hot selling people are in the team, this film is hot in trade and sold out at record price. Will this be a Hat trick hit for Bala?
Jay Jay:
Title looks like an AIADMK Documentary film, nah? Forget it. It’s a complete entertainer movie by
Saran after the colossal success of “Gemini”. This movie is produced by Oscar Films with
Madhavan and Amoga in the lead role. Bharadwaj has a soft corner for Saran and their combination always works out well.
The songs of Jay Jay are already topping the charts. Saran is a great story teller and he knows how to keep the audience in their seats.
Thirumalai:
After the success of “Samy” Kavithalaya films have produced this film with
Vijay as hero and directed by debutant Ramana. After the series of flops, Vijay is desperate for a hit. Vijay plays a role of an auto-mechanic who falls in love with rich girl,
Jyothika. It’s going to be a usual masala mixture and to entertain Vijay’s fans, it’s made further hot by having a dance number with
Kiran. Vidhyasagar has given some peppy tunes and the film is shot in a
Pudupet set made in studio which is the highlight of the film.
Aanjaneya:
Success of “Samy”, “Kaaka Kaaka” has made Ajith to take up a role of a cop and he is back after one year after his previous release “Villain”. It’s Directed by
“Vallarasu” Maharajan who’s done action films in Bollywood is back to Tamil.
Meera Jasmine in a glamourous role has supplied the feminine quotient. The film has
music by Manisharma and produced by NIC arts Chakravarthy.
Ottran:
Senior most Actor in the race, Arjun is back with
his Patriotic role . Thank God he’s not a sincere, honest Police
officer here. For a change, he is a RAW agent undercover and
it’s nice opportunity for him to appear in different get-ups.
In dreams he shakes his legs with Simran. Initially the
film was announced to have Bharadwaj’s music. Due to Arjun’s
over indulgence, Bharadwaj turned down the offer and
now it has music by Praveen Mani.
Iyarkai:
Though he has good looks and perform well, Luck is not with Shaam and all his movies didn’t do well so far. He is relying on “Iyarkai” completely. The plot is different as it revolves around ships, harbours and islands. Shaam plays a role of a sailor and
Arun kumar , a Captain. The hero meets Radhika in an island, falls in love with her and faces a lot of problems.
Vidhyasagar has given average songs for this film.
The success of “Samy”, ”Kaadhal Kondaen”, ”Kaaka Kaaka” has pumped fresh blood to the tamil film industry dying of VCD syndrome. And these line of fims hold promise to be block busters (atleast 2 of them) unlike last year’s Diwali releases which were totally disappointments.
Six horses are in the race and which one is going to win. Time will have to answer this Question.
