Direction:
Jeeva
Music:
Harris Jeyaraj
Lyrics:
Vaali, Pa. Vijay
Jeeva teams up
with Harris Jeyaraj after his
previous projects ‘12B’ and 'Ullam
ketkume', for 'Unnaale unnale',
and the result is a class album. Other than
Sadhaa, the star cast of this film are new
faces and if the film has already reached
well to the youth, Jeeva can very well point
out Harris Jeyaraj as "Unnaale unnale".
The songs are already huge hit among
youngsters.
June Pona:
Krish & Arun
The
song begins with a joyful and peppy
mood and retains it till the end.
Though it is a blatant lift from Blue’s
"All rise", Harris
has worked and improvised a bit, may
be to conceal the lift. But the opening
of the song, links us to the original.
Pa. Vijay has come out with some usual
run-of-the-mill stuff, though resembling
Vairamuthu’s style at places. Krish
and Arun have done a commendable job
in making the song impressive and
addictive.
Hello Miss:
G.V.Prakash & Anushka
The
young music director of "Veyil"
fame is roped in for this song. G.V.
Prakash’s voice is the right choice
for this youthful and stylish song.
The rhythm pattern though resembles
a song from “Bala”, Harris has tried
some variety stuff here. ‘Vaali’ba
kavignar has penned lyrics in his
style. Though got only a few lines
to croon along, Anushka marks her
presence.
Ilamai Ullaasam:
Krish & Shalini
Right
from ‘Minnale’ days, Harris is a winner
with bit songs, which make the listener
wish the song had been longer. ‘Ilamai
ullaasam’ is one such short and sweet
song, starting with finger snaps and
vocal-made music. Along with Krish
and Shalini’s voices, Harris’s Sax
mesmerizes the listener all through.
Mudhal Naal:
K.K & Mahalakshmi
Yet
another soulful melody in Harris’s
style of orchestration, that is completely
enjoyable. The opening of the song
with wonderful usage of guitar is
instantly catchy and sure to steal
youngsters’ hearts. KK and Mahalakshmi
have done a commendable job in understanding
the mood of the song and delivering
it in a flawless fashion. This song
also has lyrics by Pa. Vijay.
Unnaale Unnaale:
Karthik, Krish & Harini
Kicks
off with a slight hangover from Lesa
Lesa, yet an instantly catchy song
having all the ingredients of a Harris’s
composition. The Charanam part of
the song and the interludes are pretty
interesting and Harris’s hardwork
is obvious all through the song. The
rap portion resembles a rap portion
in a song from "Ullam Ketkume".
After a long
time, we get to listen to Mrs.Tippu’s
magical voice. Pa. Vijay should be
appreciated for having given wonderful
lyrics
Vaigaasi
Nilave: Haricharan &
Madhushree
Following
Harris’s appreciable style where the
rhythm pattern is catchy and interesting,
yet the percussions do not dominate
the lyrics, "Vaigaasi nilave"
is a ‘cho-chweet-kinda’ song. When
Haricharan’s soulstirring rendering
is a plus to this song and Madhushree’s
Tamil pronunciation spoils all the
positives of the beautiful song. Haricharan
though a recent talent find, has come
out with a wonderful performance and
it is obvious that this guy has a
bright future. Lyrics fit the tune
like glove and are by never-aging
Vaali.
"Unnaale
Unnaale" songs have all the qualities to
become heartthrob of youth and have already
hit the charts. All the songs have strong
flavour of fresh and funloving youthfulness.
