Music : Vidhyasagar
Direction : Karu. Palaniappan

Vidhyasagar is one versatile Music director who delivers variety music to the taste of the fans. Be it the fast paced masala songs like those in acion packed "Ghilli", "Madhurey" or soul stirring soft melodies, he is always a winner. His "Paarthiban Kanavu" album was one of the best selling albums last year which received raving reviews. In "Sathurangam" the same team is again all set to strike.

1. Vizhiyum vizhiyum - Madhu Balakrishnan,Bonnie and Harini (7.5/10) - This soothing Mallu style melody starts with a strange chanting by Bonnie and then Harini and Madhu Balakrishnan take it over. Credit goes to the beautiful tune for making this song grow into the listener very soon. Madhu Balakrishnan and Harini's voices work wonders captivating the listener. Though the background beats is exactly the same that's used in "Konjum mainaakale" song in "Kandu kondaen kandu kondaen". Arivumathi's lyrics are so enjoyable and he's just juggled with words.

2. Aadhuvoamae - Manicka Vinayagam (5/10) Vidhyasagar is one rare Music Director who loves to compose tunes for pre-written lyrics and he comes out with excellent lyrics. So Vidhyasagar doing a Bharathiyaar song raises expectations. Though the song is sung with energy by Manicka vinayagam and has toe-tapping percussion, it doesn't leave any mark. Wondering how the director is going to insert this patriotic song in this love subject movie?

3. Ennenna pidikkum- Sunitha sarathy and Shalini (4/10) You can call this a typical Vidhyasagar style or Harris Jeyaraj styled run of the mill kind of song. Pa.Vijay has written a long list of what are all liked by the girls. May poor guys get benefitted by knowing all these and doing accordingly.

4. Ambuli mama -Karthik and Sujatha- An average fast paced number which has got catchy and bubbly tune. Karthik and Sujatha have done a commendable job bringing out the youthfulness and the energy in Yugabharathi's lyrics.

5. Enge enge -Karthik and Timmy (7.5/10) Though it resembles "Cinderella" song from "Kangalaal kaithu sei", it has got matured orchestration, meaningful touchy lyrics and soulful rendering by Karthik and Timmy. It had been a very long time since we heard such melody set in a slow pace.

6. Enna thandhiduven - Karthik, Chakri and Shrilekha Parthasarathy (8.5/10) - Wow! What a beautiful, catchy refreshing melody and obviously the pick of the album. Entering through ears, this song easily gets a special place in the listener's heart. Pa.Vijay has come out with wonderful lyrics. Shrilekha's voice entirely lifts the song to euphoric mood.

Overall it is a good album by Vidhyasagar though only 3 songs are upto the expectation created by the "Parthiban kanavu" hype. It is a daring effort by the director to come out with such melody numbers while all contemporary directors go for fast paced techno kind of songs.
