He was sharing his own movie stories with his friends when he was
in school and started writing screenplays for NSS,AIDS awareness and
many such concepts when he was in college.He also had his own set
of fans for his gana songs while commuting to his college.
Narain came out of Madras University with a gold
medal and B.A economics degree, went on to do his Post
graduate diploma in Advertising Management from Annamalai University.He
kept up his tempo and also did an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia from
Aptech.Fascinated by multimedia,he took up a teaching job with Arena
Multimedia institute and motivated 100's of students to pursue their
career in Multimedia.Narain launched his own multimedia company 'Vinunjal'
in 1999 along with his friend Aravindan. Today, Vinnunjal has clients
around the world and has a feather in the cap for having developed
world's first intertive demo for Tamil software.

How are you preparing
yourself for Oscar?
I am browsing...Internet is my God and is the best tutor.(laughs)At
this moment, the most important task is to make my company being recognised
as the leading player in Interactive & Entertainment servics.With
this,we will be able to get into the hireel visual effects industry.
Why do you thing Indian movies are not
picking up many acadamy awards?
Like any awards even OSCAR has politics and there is only one
award for the best non-english movie.So the competitive pool is bigger.There
are extremely creative directors in other countries like Italy and
Japan.
Do you like to get trained by anyone in
particular?
There is no question of training.I rather like to work with Industrial
Light & Magic in US, a George Lucas Company which produces the major
VFX you see.
Have you ever felt India is a worng place
to achieve your goals? ?
Never.I am feeling great working in India..ofcourse with bottlenecks.
Inspite of all the facilities UK is not packing many awards.So it
is not the question of facilities alone.Killer instinct is all that
is required to win and I believe I have that.
Do you have a clear stagewise plan for
your journey?
As the technology moves day by day we get all the higher level applications
coming to the Desktop level with the same power and standads.Who knows,I
may be directing my digitalfilm entirely created in my living room's
desktop and there could be awards like oscar for dstop films also.So
it is impossible to plan so much ahead in todays scenerio.However,I'll
be working hard for my ambition to suit today's dynamic situation.
Narain concludes his interview with his trade mark optimism,'Oscar
is not the destination.It is just a milestone' .
