Uma, a calm, independent and logical friendly person is a proud author
of 10 books on various subjects.She
has recently received an award for her latest book '
seithiye swasamai' from Tamilnadu news reporters association.
She also has a natural talent for painting. Needless to say,painting
is her Passion. Her soothing paintings display her love for nature

Uma,just 24, is also into her publishing
business, Tamil Puthakalayam.She
is an athiest. She loves truth and strongly believes that if we are
free to think, there won't be any religious faith left. She is presently
writing a book on philosophy and an another book on atheism in india.
Her interests are far and wide - Music, books, movies, Advertising,Journalism
web designing and also politcs!When probed into her interest in politics
Uma says with a strong note,"All of us must be interested in politics
in a democratic country like india. That's what democracy is all about"

When did you
recognize your interest for painting and how did you groom your skills?
I saw Ravivarma's painting
in Trivandram when I was 12.That is my inspiration.I started drawing
since then.I also took formal training in painting.
What is the best reward you have had so
far?
A loving, understanding family and my country.
You
have an understanding family and a very conducive situation to grow.Do
you think if you had not born in this family, you would still have
succeeded?
Definitely I would have succeeded may be a bit late. For I believe
that if someone has got the drive to do some thing - to make a difference
nothing can stop him/her.
Being in love with your country, what are
you going to do for the country?
Personaly I am trying hard to be a perfect citizen by perfoming my
duties and claiming my rights. I haven't encouraged curruption in
any form. My strong belief is that if every one of us make it a point
not to encourage corruption, it is possible to eradicate corruption.
You have into many things at this young
age. How would you like to be classified?
Though I enjoy everything I do , I prefer to be classified as an artist.
Do you think marriage may influence your
accomplishments?
I wont allow marriage to influence my spirit as for me marriage is
a part of life... but not a life changing factor.
What success means to you?
Result of hard work and an inspiration to learn even more.
