Q.  What is the secret of being happy all the time?

Happiness or sorrow is your own making. Assume a tiff between a couple. If you have decided that you will not quarrel, despite whatever your spouse says, you will not respond unkindly. Thereafter the argument will not be aggravated. And your spouse will start respecting you more for your patience. Both of you can do away with your unwanted emotions and frustrations once you decide that you will not allow your temper to gain the better of you.

Where two individuals are involved, there is bound to be a conflict of thoughts. But a compromise can be arrived at based on logical reasoning. Instead if you let tempers fly, you are caught forever in the clutches of false ego. And hence no room for peace.

What you seek externally in this world is very much within you. The peace that you seek so constantly is in your reach. If you fritter away your health drinking or courting bad habits, who is to blame? There are so many ways to physical fitness. You can exercise, participate in sports. But till such time the body is agile you waste it away, and then when it stops co-operating, you start complaining.

Physical fitness is very important. It is in your hands to be healthy. All solutions you seek externally are within you. There is only one problem and that is you. If you are seeking solutions, you will never discuss problems.

Do not allow problems to grow - - a stitch in time saves nine. If you are not in good health, take immediate steps to get fit. If you are in financial difficulties, do not waste time talking about it. Find practical solutions to tide over the issue. People take loans to buy houses, and spend a lifetime repaying the loan in distress. The practical solution is to sell their house or jewels, repay their loan and think of owning a house after they have saved enough for it. If you are a student, study well or attend coaching classes to get good marks.

A Zen master who was known for being happy always, was in his death bed. His disciples asked him, 'Please tell us the secret of your happiness.' To which the master replied, "Every morning when I wake up, I ask myself, 'Do you want to be happy or sad today?' And I reply 'I wish to be happy'. With this reply, I decide to keep myself happy despite whatever happens. "

There is this easy formula: do not let trouble trouble you. Happiness is in the way you lead life, in the pattern your thoughts trace. If you wish to be happy, it will reflect in your thoughts, words and deeds and nothing can make you sad.
