Astrology is a great Science and whatever predictions were stated by our forefathers, like the prophecies of Varahamihira etc., are all happening now. Lunar eclipse, Solar eclipse, precisely the time these happen, all these have been found true and all these were predetermined several ages ago.
So astrology cannot be wrong. Astrology, astronomy are based on the same name ‘Astro’. ‘Vanaviyal’ - - the nature and functioning of the galaxy. Our forefathers would have set some auspicious times and not-so-auspicious times, based on the energy of the different planets on Earth at a particular time. We are on Earth. According to the influence of the planetary movements, the emotions/ thoughts of human beings change when we are part of this Earth. You may have read in the newspaper that a man was constantly looking at the Sun and he became blind. Your scientists are saying that when there is a solar eclipse you must not look directly at the sun. They advise you to see its reflection in the mirror or in the water through a small paper etc.. That goes to prove that even Science agrees to the influence of planets on some creations in this Earth.
So, maybe there is a scientific reason to Rahu kaalam, Yama gantam etc.. We do not know about all that. The best policy seems to be, if you want to be practical, to have total faith in God, keep doing your duty, not bothered about the time. You know we are keeping pace with a very fast world. If you allot some time for Rahu Kaalam, some time for Yama gantam, when will you work? It will be a problem in the present mad chase. We cannot be wasting like that.
So, it is better to have total faith in yourselves, total faith in the ultimate good of God for you, keep doing your duties and never be bothered about all these things. I am not even now saying that they are wrong. There might be substance in it; we may not know. But the practical solution for this question seems to be doing your duties unmindful of all this. Have total faith in yourselves, total faith in God.
