Q. When the soul is the same why should one carry his karma to his next birth?

All souls are interconnected and one. Self-realization involves knowing the presence of the Lord in everyone and realizing that the same soul is within everyone. When everyone understands this, karmic effects dissipate and he will be freed from rebirth.
