BABA’S MESSAGE FOR EASTER 2005

Easter is the day of Christ’s resurrection. What is resurrection?

Restoring oneself to one’s original state. All of us were in oneness with God. For reasons related to our karmic effects, we have been sent to Earth for undergoing various experiences and getting absolved of our karmas. We were qualified to partake of nectar; we are eating bread and butter instead. We were eligible to a life in paradise as beings of Light; we are suffering in diseased bodies instead. We take the transient world to be real and so get caught in the vicious cycle of births and deaths. This is the state of a normal human being.

Like the phoenix bird that rises out of its own ashes, Jesus resurrected himself from the cross. And so his praises have been sung over the past 2004 years. This is the state of enlightened beings like Jesus Christ.

An oft repeated message of Jesus was, ‘You are seeking God outside. Whereas He is within you as the life-giving Light. If you search outside, the Light may not be visible. If you seek within, the Light will guide you’. The society did not recognize Jesus during his life time. This world that allows space for even a tiny bird was not prepared to spare even a brick for this Son of God to relax.

So many miracles he performed! He cured people possessed by evil spirits. He restored vision to the blind. He made the lame walk. He revived dead persons. The society that applauded him on account of these miracles, abandoned him for no reason when he was nailed on the cross. His own apostles let him down. Judas betrayed him for a mere 30 silver coin bribe. Simon who declared that he would never leave Jesus, denied thrice that Jesus was his guide. Thomas, to whom Jesus had affirmed that he would resurrect, doubted whether the form standing before him bearing the marks of the cross was really Jesus. These apostles were witnesses to every one of the miracles of Jesus and yet none stood by him. This is the irony of life.

Saints like Jesus descend on Earth to light up life’s way for you. But you do not acknowledge their worth during their life time. This is the reason for lack of happiness in this world - - neither do you understand any one, nor do you utilize their services. It is all right even if you do not respect them; but why do you scandalize them? You do not make an effort to practice or even understand their guidance; you are more interested in raising queries just as a pastime.

It is God’s decision and the need of the hour, that sons of God like Jesus Christ have to come and will come. It is high time you mend your ways and respect these messengers of God. Otherwise there will be no resurrection. Mahaans descend to restore the kingdom of heaven back to you but you are not willing to partake of the benediction. You have committed this blunder across several thousand years. Do not err again. This is my message for Easter.

Learn to appreciate the positive contribution of Mahaans and then you will see your life flourishing.
