Life is full of riddles and puzzles. But every human being is ready to face challenges by believing in oneself and developing confidence in one’s actions. It is that belief, confidence and trust which sustain the life of human beings. In a routine life, each one has to progress through journeys and each journey may culminate in two different ways. The first one is that the destination is reached merrily and the other one is that when the journey ends with mishaps or the person fails to reach the destination. But no one has stopped during the course of this journey of life, immaterial of whatever the result could be and this journey through human life is an endless process. When the human being starts a journey with strong belief and great confidence, it is definite that the destination is not so far off and one can reach the goal much before time. Every human being gains experience when he faces obstacles and hurdles. One also finds the way to remove those obstacles and strives to attain best results.

This journey through life starts from the birth of the human being and comes to an end at the time of death. Through the journey of life, we experience the true colors of life. During this journey, each one uses his/her own knowledge in the best possible way to get fruitful results. An insecure person fails to enjoy the pleasures of this world and is unable to receive wisdom from the spiritual world. It is the clarity of mind that leads to practical thinking of converting human thoughts into actions where one not only attains self contentment but also enjoys the pleasures of the material world. It is this belief and confidence which renders energy to the life of human beings.

The story of a professor and anyasi clearly explains the journey to God. The professor and sanyasi were traveling together in a train. The professor asked the sanyasi his whereabouts.

Professor: Do you belong to which math?

Sanyasi: I am a nomad and wherever I go, that place is mine and the people are related to me.

Professor: You are not related to me and it cannot be. Do you believe in God?

Sanyasi : Yes, I believe in God , perhaps you may refuse our relationship but I believe in our relationship.

Professor: Is your God is a good human?

Sanyasi : Yes, he is a good human being.

Professor : Does he fulfill human wishes?

Sanyasi : Yes, he fulfills human wishes.

Professor : I had a younger brother. He suffered from cancer. He had strong belief in God and visited few temples. He prayed God to get well soon. His prayers were not heard by God and he died. Since your God has not heard his prayers, how can you say God is a good human being and that he can fulfill people’s wishes?

Sansyasi : Whosoever takes birth in this world has to die some day. This is the truth of life. Can you show me anybody living indefinitely since birth?

Professor : Do you mean to say that each incidence happens in this world according to your God and to you, He is the Supreme who is capable of changing things into action?

Sanyasi : Yes, I believe in Him.

Professor : If so, who is responsible for the sufferings of the people in this world - diseases, earthquakes, cyclones, drought, murders, robbery terror, riots, hatred, war Who is responsible for all these evils existing in this world?

Sanyasi : All these evils are happening due to human beings, not because of God and human beings are alone responsible for this. Human beings, for building dams, cut down trees and as a result of this, the occurrence of earthquake is inevitable. Destruction of forests and pollution of environment result in cyclones, drought etc. The craziness for unlimited desires and impossible wishes lands humans into the trouble of disease. Murder robbery, riots, hatred, war- for all these evils, do you mean to say God is responsible?Does God demand for these evils? The answer for this is certainly ‘no’.

The Professor was stunned by his answer. He continued with his queries.

Professor: Each human being has five sense organs i.e seeing, smelling tasting, hearing and touching. Has anyone has seen, heard, touched, smelled the existence of God? Nobody has seen, heard, touched him, then how can you say that Hee is present everywhere?

Sanyasi : Nobody can prove this but I have got strong belief in God. It is not possible to prove his existence according to your theory.

Professor: This is the only problem that there is no evidence for your belief.

Sanyasi: Sir, Do you agree that there is heat in this world?

Professor : Yes, I agree.

Sanyasi: Do you agree that there is cold in this world?

Professor: Yes, I agree. Is there any doubt about this?

Sanyasi : I strongly say that there is a doubt. I say that there is no cold in the world. Scientifically speaking, the degrees of heat changes to more heat, further more heat and to the point where heat is intolerable and in the other way less heat, little heat and no heat. Thus we can differentiate between two extreme points of heat. I mean that there is no cold or it is difficult to explain the existence of cold in the world. From 0 degrees to -200 degrees one can find that there is no heat. Beyond this level no human being can survive. This has been proved scientifically. So which one is the cold atmosphere? Will you be able to give the answer? It is only heat which gives energy to the world. If there is no heat, there is no energy and there is the end of the world. As long as heat is there, the world will move on.

The Sanyasi questioned the professor this time.

Sanyasi asked: What is dark? Will you show the presence of darkness in the world? How will you exactly define darkness?

Professor: I am not able to understand the logic behind your explanation.

Sanyasi : Even when there is no cold, you still believe there are both hot and cold atmospheres in the world. Similarly, though you are not able to explain the concept of darkness, but you still believe both light and darkness exist in the world. You see only the evil incidents of this world and you refuse to accept the good things present in the world. You would have seen dead bodies or attended funerals but you never deeply thought about death. When your brother died, you started thinking about the concept of death. If there is life, there is death also. Death is not opposite to life. Very few people understand that death is recharging life. Death is changing life from one body to another . Do you believe in Darwin’s theory? The same theory applies to spirituality as well. Sir, have you seen knowledge? Have you ever heard of it or have you ever touched it? Sir, when you cannot see, touch or hear knowledge, how will you expect evidence for the presence of God. You have to believe in the presence of God in this world and your belief is your God.
