Q.  My office colleague constantly complains about life’s petty problems and that God has let him down. It really gets on our nerves. What do I tell him that will correct his view?

Tell him this : Only attitude counts...

Be thankful to the Lord for all that He has given you. You are blessed with the basic amenities of food, clothing and shelter, you have a family to care for you. So why do you fret over what you do not have? Have you ever been grateful for what you have?

God has endowed nature with such bountiful gifts to share with you -- the tender breeze, the plants and trees, the frolicking animals, the heat of the sun and the cool radiance of the moon -- all yours at no cost. Have you ever taken time to hear the songs the birds sing for you? The entire world is filled with joy and happiness. But you hold on to misery instead. You have never used up the time God has given you to experience the blessing that life is. Change your outlook and then you will be in everlasting happiness.

1. The world is made up of joy. It is you who are holding on to sorrow.
Let go of it.

2. Love God for God's sake. Do not fear Him.

3. The Almighty encompasses everything in this Universe and is mightier than the mightiest you can possibly think of. So instead of telling Him how big your problems are, tell your problems how big God is. And then you will see your troubles slink away never to see again.

Change your attitude towards life. Pray to the Lord when you are still physically able, sing to Him or listen to songs in His glory or at least long for Him. Only He will be by your side when your physical strength has failed you.
