I
want to share something which I came
across recently in London. London is
called as a small world inside world
as you will find people from all countries
living here, being the centre of the
world. One evening I was returning from
work by bus. Normally small children
are brought by perambulators and all
buses have facilities for 2 perambulators.
That evening there was a thrid young
mother with a child aged between 1 1/2
to 2 years. From looks, she appeared
like a chinese to me. Seeing the child
stand, I offered the seat and the child
got onto the seat. Slowly the child
started talking something to the mother
seeing through the window. And often
he repeated the word 'amma amma'. Then
it occured to me that he was addressing
the mother as amma but i couldnt follow
anything else. Unable to curb my curiosity,
I asked the lady if she was a chinese
or a Japanese. She said she was a Korean.
Then I asked her if amma meant mother
in Korean language. To my surprise she
said yes and thats how her son calls
her. I proudly told her that even in
South India (she was not aware of Tamilnadu)
they say amma and both of us were amazed!
After all world is small and there are
so many similarities amongst men.
Unfortunately we human beings only see
the differences and widen the gap!.
